Time now for our Super Bowl 50 Picks!
Super Bowl 50
Carolina Panthers are favored by 4.5
Ha Kung Wong’s Pick
Carolina Panthers 24 – Denver Broncos 20
Ha Kung’s Thoughts:
Here we are in the last week in the lead with 162-104 for the season and only one game to go. I’m hoping to finish strong with one more win, and I think I’m going to do that by picking the Carolina Panthers.
Want to know why? Well, I break down the X’s and O’s for you in my Super Bowl 50 Preview and Prediction!
Also, just because we love competition here at Football Garbage Time, we’ve been going heads up against Wally, Will and Ray at Urban Sports Scene on our NFL Picks. We’re completely tied at 3-3-2 with just the Super Bowl to go!
Scott King’s Pick
Carolina Panthers 42 – Denver Broncos 17
Scott’s Thoughts:
This is a tough one for me to pick this year. I live in the Carolinas and I like Cam and the Panthers, but I’ve been picking against them all year. There’s no logical reason their offense should be playing the way they do. Their top WR went down before the season started and the rest of the group are cast offs. But, they keep putting up monster numbers. They have a running game and a defense to go along with a QB that’s been the best in the league. On the flip side, Manning is deteriorating in front of our eyes and I’m surprised he’s able to make any throws right now. The Bronco defense is elite and they’ll have to be in this game if they want to win. I really like Manning, he played at the same time I was in college and I’ve followed his career closely because of that reason. I hate to go against him in the big game, but the Panthers have finally convinced me that they can win the big game.
I wish I could say it’s going to be a good game, but I don’t see it.
I’ll take Carolina 42-17
Joanne Kong’s Picks
Carolina Panthers 27 – Denver Broncos 30
Joanne’s Thoughts:
Cam Newton and the panthers will have another opportunity next year, but this is likely Peyton Manning’s last one, so I’m rooting for him to win.
John Kirkland’s Picks
Carolina Panthers 17 – Denver Broncos 27
Joey Alibro’s Picks
Carolina Panthers 21 – Denver Broncos 23
Joey’s Thoughts:
Peyton rides off into the sunset.
Jason Johnson’s Picks
Carolina Panthers 31 – Denver Broncos 10
Jason’s Thoughts:
Panthers will win. Denver just doesn’t have the offense to keep up with Carolina. Denver hasn’t faced an offensive line like Carolina. They will be able to hold them at bay long enough for Cam Newton to do his thing. And watch Philly Brown because he is going to have a monster game.
Ryan Whitfield’s Picks
Carolina Panthers 31 – Denver Broncos 20
Ryan’s Thoughts:
The most dominant team end to end this year has been Carolina. That’s not changing Sunday night. They play fast and physical and Peyton Manning cannot lead the Broncos back from an early deficit. Carolina goes up early and never looks back. And my man Devin Funchess gets two TD snags.
