Week 16 NFL Picks

Time now for our Week 15 NFL Picks!
Week 16 Games
Ha Kung Wong’s Picks
Ha Kung’s Thoughts:
As I mention every week, copy my picks and you can thank me later. I’m still in the lead with 137-87 for the season. So if you like winning, I think I can help.
Also, just because we love competition here at Football Garbage Time, we’ve been going heads up against Wally, Will and Ray at Urban Sports Scene on our NFL Picks. Ray and Will won in Week 15, so we’re 2-1-1, but keep it tuned in, to both us and them, because there’s much more competition to come!
Alright, now on to the most interesting game of the week for me, which is the New England Patriot @ New York Jets.
The Jets need to win this one just to keep up with the Steelers and others for the AFC Wild Card. Ultimately, I think the Steelers is the better team, but the Jets have far exceeded expectations this year with Ryan Fitzpatrick at the helm, and they certainly have the ability to continue to surprise us on Sunday, particularly against a banged up Patriots team.
It appears that Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola will both miss this game due to lingering injuries, and the Pats are likely to be cautious with them with the post season basically locked in. That leaves Rob Gronkowski, Keyshawn Martin and James White to catch those short dump offs and crossing patterns that the Pats love so much. I’m sure they’ll remain effective, but they don’t nearly have as much to play for as the Jets, and with the Jets at home, I imagine they’ll find a way to pull this out.

Joanne’s Thoughts:
Happy Holidays!
So my “wish” picks in week 15 didn’t fair so well.
At week 16, the AFC divisional leaders are New England Patriots (12-2), Cincinnati Bengals (11-3), Denver Broncos (10-4), and currently the Texans (7-7).
Current standings in the AFC Divisional Wild Card – Chiefs (9-5) and Steelers (9-5)
The NFC divisional leaders are Carolina Panthers (14-0), Arizona Cardinals (12-2), Green Bay Packers (10-4) and Washington Redskins (7-7).
Current standings in the AFC Divisional Wild Card – Seattle Seahawks (9-5) and Minnesota Vikings (9-5)
Washington Redskins @ Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles are one game behind the Redskins, who currently stand as the divisional leader by one game. A win for the Redskins would seal their post season, if the New York Giants lose @ Minnesota Vikings. A win for the Redskins would probably eliminate the Eagles from the wild card playoffs.
Both teams are looking for the win, as are the new York Giants, but only one team will walk off the field with a victory. The Redskins have been surprising this season, currently on a 2-game win streak with 4-year veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins from Michigan State. Their last three losses were to the New England Patriots (week 9), Carolina Panthers (week 11) and a close loss to the Dallas Cowboys (week 13). In week 4, these two teams faced off and the Redskins walked off with the win.
The Redskins are on fire, expect them to win, closing the window for the Philadelphia.
New York Giants @ Minnesota Vikings
For the Giants to take the divisional lead, the Washington Redskins will need to lose the final two weeks and the Giants will need to defeat the Vikings in week 16 and the Eagles in week 17. It’s a complicated equation. As a Giants fan, I hope for the best and thank the “football gods” that there is even the smallest of chances for the Giants to make it to the post season. As a realist, the Giants should be able to defeat the Minnesota Vikings and the Philadelphia Eagles.
But, the Washington Redskins should also be able to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles and avenge the week 13 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in week 17, taking the Giants out of the wild card.
Expect the Giants to win.
