Without further to do, here we go:

Week 8 Games

Ha Kung’s Picks

Ha Kung’s Thoughts:

Last year I ended up with a 64.7% record for the season, so that’s seven years in a row with over a 60% pick rate.  Plus, I had a 75.5% record on Locks of the Week and a 58% record on Upsets of the Week.  I had a solid week going 10-4 in Week 7, with a total of total of 69-38 for the season (64.5%), 4-3 for Locks of Week, and 4-3 for Upsets of the Week.  Don’t worry, I don’t plan on stopping now!

Let’s get to that Lock (for Survivor Leagues) and Upset for Week 8…

Lock of the Week Philadelphia Eagles (-10.5) over Pittsburgh Steelers

That’s it, I’ve had with getting burned by the Bucs with my Locks of the Week, so this week I’m moving on to the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles over the struggling Pittsburgh Steelers.  The Eagles are coming off a bye, are completely healthy and just traded for DE Robert Quinn from the Bears.  They had a lock down defense to begin with, so this should even make it harder on rookie QB Kenny Pickett.  The Steelers are really having a hard time finding their rhythm on offense, and although they’ve improved, they’re really not that scary on defense without TJ Watt.  The Steelers have now allowed the 5th most yards per game to opposing offenses of any team in the NFL (394.3).  The Eagles on the other hand have allowed the 4th least yards per game to opposing offenses this year (297.8).  Don’t over think it.  Lock it in.

Upset of the Week New York Jets (+1.5) over New England Patriots

The Jets are a surprising 5-2 and although they lost standout rookie RB Breece Hall, they managed to trade for James Robinson to bolster Michael Carter in the backfield.  The Jets have been playing solid defense and special teams and have been winning in spite of Zach Wilson.  The Patriots, on the other hand, were completely schizophrenic on their QB use on Monday night against the Bears and paid for it by getting blown out by own of the most offense inept teams in the league.  They’ll go back to Mac Jones again this week, but I’m a little concerned about what’s happening on defense, allowing 243 yards on the ground to the Bears.  The Jets are trending up and they’re as run heavy as they come, so I like the Jets to pull off the upset this week.

Joanne’s Picks

Joanne’s Thoughts:

Not to jinx week 8, but for the last four weeks, I’ve selected the New York Giants to lose regardless of the opposing team. In turn, the Giants have made some miraculous wins. Of course, their victory isn’t magic. A healthy Saquon Barkley, who has had 726 rushing yards, 4 touchdowns and 180 receiving yards, has been missing from the offense. In week 8, the New York Giants will face the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle.
