“Pick ‘Em or Kick ‘Em”™: FGT VS. Urban Sports Scene 2022 Week 6 NFL Picks

By the Football Garbage Time Staff

If you followed last year, you won over 60% of your picks, and we aim to do even better this year.

And if you’ve been following us, you know that we here at Football Garbage Time have gone head to head against Wally, Will and Ray at Urban Sports Scene on our NFL Picks for the last 5 seasons.  Why?  Because they’re awesome competitors, they KNOW their sports, and, heck, they’re just good guys!  This year we’ll have their picks up right HERE, so keep it tuned in, to both us and them, because we’ll be picking all season all long.

Without further to do, here we go:

Week 6 Games

Ha Kung’s Picks

Ha Kung’s Thoughts:

Last year I ended up with a 64.7% record for the season, so that’s seven years in a row with over a 60% pick rate.  Plus, I had a 75.5% record on Locks of the Week and a 58% record on Upsets of the Week.  I’m still off to a solid start going 11-5 in Week 5 for a total of total of 53-26 for the season (67.1%), 4-1 for Locks of Week, and 3-2 for Upsets of the Week.  Don’t worry, I don’t plan on stopping now!

Let’s get to that Lock (for Survivor Leagues) and Upset for Week 6…

Lock of the Week Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-8.0) over Pittsburgh Steelers

So the Steelers tried to spark their offense with Kenny Pickett under center and it turns out Pickett loves to throw short passes and INTs too.  Maybe there’s something there, but the Steelers defense is also in shambles without TJ Watt.  The Bill absolutely destroyed them last week, and I expect the Buccaneers to do so this week with Tom Brady having a full set of relatively healthy receivers.  Don’t over think it.  Lock it in.

Upset of the Week Kansas City Chiefs (+3.0) over Buffalo Bills

This is probably the game of the week with the Bills trending up and the Chiefs barely escaping a Week 5 showdown with the now 1-5 Raiders.  But I have confidence in the Chiefs playing to the level of their competition.  Josh Allen will want to get revenge for last years AFC Game shootout, but they’re playing at Arrowhead and I can see the Chiefs pulling this out.  But the Bills do have the best defense in the league, so I’m going to have to chalk this up to a gut call.

Joanne’s Picks

Joanne’s Thoughts:

It’s week 6, and I’m still getting it wrong. This season is making my head spin. Teams that should be winning are taking home the ‘W’ and star players are disappointing in fantasy. As for the Giants, they are 3-1 and only seem to win when I pick the opposing team. I’m going to test my theory and never pick the NY Giants to win.

Scott’s Picks

Scott’s Thoughts:

A little brighter outcome the last few weeks. Any given Sunday is truly in play this season as apparent locks are still dropping. Teams are starting to separate themselves and there are some clear losers. The Lions season is over heading into their bye as I put a 1% chance on them making the playoffs, cause they’re mathematically still eligible.

George’s Picks

George’s Thoughts:

Will start the week by saying that Washington will lose at Chicago and if they do they are on an express train to 1-9.

Baltimore at N.Y. Giants: On paper the Giants should have no chance. They’ve got a good defense but couldn’t stop Dallas’ running attack and go against an even more lethal running game spearheaded by Lamar Jackson. The Giants will need to lean on Saquon Barkley and play a ball control game to have a chance. They can do that because the Ravens aren’t a good defensive team. But if this gets into a shootout the Giants can’t keep up and they won’t.

Buffalo at Kansas City: We all know about what happened in the playoffs last year but forget that. These are the two best teams in the NFL, but the Bills have played the tougher schedule and played the better football. They made a statement on opening night by thrashing the defending champions. The Chiefs only just snuck past their bitter rival with the help of a curious 2-point decision by Raiders coach Josh McDaniels. The Bills stamp themselves as the Super Bowl favorite by winning on the road.

Dallas at Philadelphia: This one is real simple for me. If the Cowboys play Dak Prescott and use the same game plan for him as for Cooper Rush they will win this crunch NFC East battle. If Dallas starts Cooper Rush his flaws that have been a little exposed the last few weeks will be taken advantage of by the Eagles. Pending Prescott’s status I will pick Philadelphia (if Prescott plays I will pick Dallas)

Upset of the week: Jacksonville goes to Indianapolis and harasses Matt Ryan into a bunch of turnovers. Jags reestablish themselves at the top of the AFC South
Eliminator: If you haven’t used the Rams already use them. If the Rams aren’t available then take the Buccaneers against the Steelers.
