The 8th Annual Football Garbage Time Fantasy Football League Draft Results!

By the Football Garbage Time Staff & Friends

I can’t believe it’s the 8th year we’ve done this, but here we are!  Another season for the Football Garbage Time Fantasy Football League with our friends around the industry, including:

To keep things interesting, we’re a half PPR league with the following weekly roster: 2 x QB, 2 x RB, 2 x WR, 1 x TE, 1 x FLEX (RB/WR/TE), 1 x K and 1 x DEF.

And here’s the results of our draft:

Certainly, we saw many of the typical trends for 2 x QB half PPR leagues including:

  • Early Drafted QBs (9 QBs in the first two rounds)
  • RBs Drafted slightly earlier than WRs (13 RBs and 9 WRs in the first three rounds)
  • Top TEs taken in Rounds 3 to 6 (9 TEs drafted over those rounds)
  • Ks and DEFs largely taken in the last three rounds (12 Ks and 8 DEFs drafted in the last three rounds)

Scott King also had these thoughts on the draft:

“Unfortunately I was finishing a call when the draft started and was distracted through the first few rounds, and my team paid for it. I was sitting 10 and grabbed Henry with my first pick. I had him last year and I have no concerns on the injury lingering. He’ll be a stud. On the turn I went with Mixon. Burrow has one more year experience and the offense will move the ball. Here’s where I fell off, I went Dak and Stafford with the next two. I wanted to grab QB and didn’t have the time to see what was out there. Stafford should be fine, but concerned about Dak. The WRs I grabbed are weak but I did manage to get Thomas, which is great. Kittle at TE will produce and the bench filled out fine. I’d give myself a B-, but a C+ may be more accurate. I’ll be on the trade hunt and waiver wire this season. Let’s ride.”
