In 2021, we were over 70% for cash lineups and we’re back with more Daily Fantasy Football advice for Cash Games for Week 3 of the 2022 season!

You’re welcome.

As usual, before we get to winning you more bragging rights (and DFS cash), remember, the point of this article is not just to give you one or two lineups for each site, it’s to give you examples of a few POSSIBLE lineups.  Getting exposure to a few different lineups is always a good idea, so don’t forget to mix and match additional lineups from my suggestions below.  Trust me, it’s a lot more fun that way AND you’ll improve your chances of cashing!

Let’s get to winning you some CASH in Week 3 of the 2022 NFL season!

Daily Fantasy Football

Cash Games, for those who don’t know, are essentially the lowest risk games.  They include “50/50” games, in which half the entrants win about 1.8x the entry fee, and “Double Ups”, in which slightly less than half the entrants win 2x the entry fee.

Since there’s so many different sites, and I can’t cover them all, I’ve decided to cover just the most popular sites, including Fan Duel, Draft Kings and Yahoo! Daily Fantasy.

First of all, as a general rule for 50/50 Cash Games, there’s a basic target of points per salary cap spent that you’d like to look for:

  • For Fan Duel try to target at least 2 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
  • For Draft Kings, try to target at least 2.5 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
  • For Yahoo! Daily Fantasy, try to target at least 0.6-0.7 fantasy points per $1 spent.

Remember, this article is not focused on GPP (Tournament) Games, JUST Cash Games.  Feel free to use a few of these suggested players as a base when constructing a GPP lineup, but you’ll have to take some chances on a few low cost, upside players as well.

As per usual, I’m going to provide you with a few sample lineups on each site and give you a few notes to consider.  You’re welcome.

So, without further to do, here are my suggestions for the Best Daily Fantasy Football Plays for Cash Games and player props for Week 3 contests, along with they’re prices.

FanDuel

Draft Kings

Yahoo! DFS

Game Notes:

  • UPDATE – Jakobi Meyers is OUT for Week 3, so replace him your lineups.  I particularly like Curtis Samuel at the price point.
  • For those new to this column, note that I never advocate against you paying up at any particular position for DFS.  We all know that the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Christian McCaffrey are probably going to have the most consistent upside in terms of potential fantasy points from week to week.  But remember that DFS is a salary cap game.  You can feel free to sprinkle high priced players into your lineups, but you can’t pay up at every position because there’s simply not enough salary to go around.  I try my best each week to provide my thoughts on how you might want to balance your cash lineups in terms of points potential and salary.
  • My approach to DFS in Week 3 is to rely on at least one solid top end WR to anchor my team, and to pay down at QB, as I think there’s some value this week.  I’ve also paid down at RB, since RBs have been at best inconsistent over the first two weeks, and also noted that there’s again plenty of value in the WR ranks this week, so I have no problems paying up a little at TE.
  • No real “Free Square of the Week”™, but I do like the opportunity for Breshad Perriman, who is almost minimum cost across industry and may be the last man standing with Chris Godwin and Julio Jones out due to injury and Mike Evans suspended in Tampa.  He did have 3 of 5 for 45 yards and TD last week, and if he hits that, you’ve got a bargain.
  • My favorite QBs this week are Jalen Hurts and Derek Carr.  Both allow you to pay down a little, which saves some cap space for that one stud WR and perhaps a stud TE.  Hurts has a ridiculously high floor due to the rush yards, averaging 75.5 rush yards per game for best among QBs, and Carr has Davante Adams, which obviously has increased his ceiling.  He’s had at least 2 TDs each game and now faces the 26th ranked Titans defense.
  • My favorite RBs this week are David Montgomery and Miles Sanders.  Montgomery smashed last week for 122 yards against the Packers and now face the Texans’ 30th ranked run defense, plus he’s cheap across industry.  The Bears only have 28 pass attempts over two games, so it’s pretty clear they’re going to lean on Montgomery.  Cheaper across industry is Sanders, who’s averaged 95.5 yards from scrimmage over two games in a run heavy Eagles offense and now faces the 28th ranked Commanders run defense.
  • The Buffalo Bills @ Miami Dolphins game has the highest over/under of the weekend (53.0), so I’m in on Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs and Tyreek Hill.  I’m avoiding Tua for now in cash games, but happy to slot him in tournaments.
  • The Detroit Lions @ Minnesota Vikings game has the second highest over/under of the weekend (52.5), so I’m in on a potential shootout between both of these teams as well.  I’m particularly interested in on Amon-Ra St. Brown, D’Andre Swift, Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson.
  • Hey, look who’s back!  It’s Saquon Barkley!  Barkley had 194 all-purpose yards and a TD in Week 1, and this week he gets a Panthers defense that allowed 187 yards and two TDs while allowing an 83.5% catch rate to Browns running backs in Week 1.  Feel free to anchor your RB position with him.
  • On defense, I love taking value and paying down for the Cincinnati Bengals Defense or Los Angeles Rams Defense, both of which are priced down across industry.

Good luck everyone with your Week 3 Cash Lineups, and I’ll see you next week for some Week 4 Cash Lineup suggestions!
