In 2021, we were over 70% for cash lineups and we’re back with more Daily Fantasy Football advice for Cash Games for Week 2 of the 2022 season!

You’re welcome.

As usual, before we get to winning you more bragging rights (and DFS cash), remember, the point of this article is not just to give you one or two lineups for each site, it’s to give you examples of a few POSSIBLE lineups.  Getting exposure to a few different lineups is always a good idea, so don’t forget to mix and match additional lineups from my suggestions below.  Trust me, it’s a lot more fun that way AND you’ll improve your chances of cashing!

And as we did last year, we’re also adding our top two player prop picks to help you win even MORE money!

Let’s get to winning you some CASH in Week 2 of the 2022 NFL season!

Daily Fantasy Football

Cash Games, for those who don’t know, are essentially the lowest risk games.  They include “50/50” games, in which half the entrants win about 1.8x the entry fee, and “Double Ups”, in which slightly less than half the entrants win 2x the entry fee.

Since there’s so many different sites, and I can’t cover them all, I’ve decided to cover just the most popular sites, including Fan Duel, Draft Kings and Yahoo! Daily Fantasy.

First of all, as a general rule for 50/50 Cash Games, there’s a basic target of points per salary cap spent that you’d like to look for:

  • For Fan Duel try to target at least 2 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
  • For Draft Kings, try to target at least 2.5 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
  • For Yahoo! Daily Fantasy, try to target at least 0.6-0.7 fantasy points per $1 spent.

Remember, this article is not focused on GPP (Tournament) Games, JUST Cash Games.  Feel free to use a few of these suggested players as a base when constructing a GPP lineup, but you’ll have to take some chances on a few low cost, upside players as well.

As per usual, I’m going to provide you with a few sample lineups on each site and give you a few notes to consider.  You’re welcome.

So, without further to do, here are my suggestions for the Best Daily Fantasy Football Plays for Cash Games and player props for Week 2 contests, along with they’re prices.

Game Notes:

  • For those new to this column, note that I never advocate against you paying up at any particular position for DFS.  We all know that the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Christian McCaffrey are probably going to have the most consistent upside in terms of potential fantasy points from week to week.  But remember that DFS is a salary cap game.  You can feel free to sprinkle high priced players into your lineups, but you can’t pay up at every position because there’s simply not enough salary to go around.  I try my best each week to provide my thoughts on how you might want to balance your cash lineups in terms of points potential and salary.
  • My approach to DFS in Week 2 is to rely on at least one solid top end WR to anchor my team, and to pay down at QB, as I think there’s some value this week.  I’ve also noted that there’s again plenty of value in the WR ranks this week, so I have no problems paying up a little at at RB or TE.
  • The “Free Squares of the Week”™ are Jeff Wilson Jr. and the Cincinnati Bengals Defense.
    • Wilson will be the likely beneficiary to Eli Mitchell’s absence due to a knee injury.  It’s not that I think that Wilson is going to be elite, but the 49ers are fairly run heavy and in the nine games Wilson started at running back over the past four years he averaged 81.2 yards rushing and scoring eight TDs.  He’s priced down across industry which makes him an excellent value facing the Seahawks.
    • I’ve never picked a defense as a Free Square before, but the Bengals Defense is priced as if they were facing Dak Prescott and not Cooper Rush.  Their close to the lowest priced defense in both FanDuel and Draft Kings, so go ahead and save some cap space!
  • The Arizona Cardinals @ Las Vegas Raiders game has the highest over/under of the weekend (51.5), so I’m in on most of the skill players here, particularly Derek Carr and Davante Adams, since the Cardinals allowed 360 passing yards and 5 TDs in Week 1.  On the flipside, I’m going back to the well with Marquise Brown who had a decent Week1 as the default WR1 for the Cardinals with Deandre Hopkins suspended and Rondale Moore ruled out again, playing with his old college QB Kylar Murray.  His pricing is still to low for such a great set up.  I’m also in on James Conner, who should continue to be the bell cow for the Cardinals.
  • The Washington Commanders @ Detroit Lions game has the second highest over/under of the weekend (48.5), so I’m in on a potential shootout between both of these teams as well.  I’m particularly interested in Carson Wentz, who in Week 1 became the first Washington QB to have 4 TDs in a game since Kirk Cousins in 2017.  And his pass catchers are all in play, including Terry McLaurin, Curtis Samuel and Jahan Dotson, in that order (though I do like the value of paying down for Samuel or Dotson).  And I’m a huge fan of Antonio Gibson, who still has the RB1 spot in Washington with Brian Robinson out, and faces a Lions’ defense that allowed 4 rushing TDs in Week 1.  On the other side, I’m a fan of Amon-Ra St. Brown, and would be interested in D’Andre Swift if he’s healthy.  Otherwise, Jamaal Williams may be a solid value play if Swift sits Week 2 out.
  • Hey, look who’s back!  It’s Saquon Barkley!  Barkley had 194 all-purpose yards and a TD in Week 1, and this week he gets a Panthers defense that allowed 187 yards and two TDs while allowing an 83.5% catch rate to Browns running backs in Week 1.  Feel free to anchor your RB position with him.
  • I’m a huge fan of Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy this week, as they were well-targeted in Week 1 and look to have plenty of opportunity in Week 2 against a Texans pass defense that ranked 31st in the NFL in 2021, allowing 340 passing yards per game. And the Texans were just as pliable in Week 1 allowing 340 yards to Matt Ryan, and Colts receiver Michael Pittman had 122 of those yards. The Broncos come off a disappointing first game against the Seahawks and will be playing their home opener, so there’s plenty of motivation to go big this week for both Sutton and Jeudy.
  • On defense, I love taking value and paying down for the Bengals as noted above, but the San Francisco 49ers Defense is well priced on Yahoo as well.

  • UPDATES (9/18/22)
    • With Michael Pittman out, I don’t mind mixing in a few lineups with Parris Campbell.  We’re unsure how much additional target share he’ll get, but Pittman’s absence leaves plenty of additional targets to go around.

Good luck everyone with your Week 2 Cash Lineups, and I’ll see you next week for some Week 3 Cash Lineup suggestions!
