Waiver Favors™: 2021 Week 15 Fantasy Football Pickups

As I do every year over the last 9 years, I’m here to help with waiver wire adds via my weekly Waiver Favors™ article!  And I’m assuming if you’re reader right now, you won your fantasy football playoffs last year, so congratulations!

I’ll make a couple suggestions for after Week 15 of the 2021 fantasy football season that hopefully will keep your team running.  You’re welcome.  Again.

As usual, all pickups are available in at least 50% of Yahoo standard fantasy football leagues (with some minor exceptions) as of Sunday evening.

Players I’ve suggested before that deserve a look again this week include:

And here are some new players I’m recommending this week:

Duke Johnson

RB – Miami Dolphins – 2% Owned

There’s no reason to overreact since this was against the lowly Jets, but even with Myles Gaskin back, Duke Johnson had the best game of his 7-year career rushing 22 times for 107 yards and 2 TDs in Week 15, adding a 20-yard reception.  Frankly, it’s the best Miami RB performance this season, and although we’re likely to see Gaskin more involved next week, you can’t overlook the potential.  If you’re looking to shore up your bench for the playoffs, feel free to stash him in all 12-team leagues or deeper.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling

WR – Green Bay Packers – 41% Owned

Anyone who’s consistently receiving targets from Aaron Rodgers is relevant.  Marquez Valdes-Scantling is one of those guys.  You can’t predict who will be involved past Davante Adams, but he did manage to catch 5 of 7 targets for 98 yards and a TD in Week 15, after averaging 8 targets per game over his last 3 games.  With Randall Cobb (groin) out due to injury, Valdes-Scantling should maintain his target volume, which makes him and interesting bench stash in all 12-team leagues or deeper.

Gabriel Davis

WR – Buffalo Bills – 19% Owned

With Emmanuel Sanders sidelined, Gabriel Davis had another good day following up 5/42/1 in Week 14 with 5 receptions for 85 yards and 2 TDs in Week 15.  It may not be forever, or consistent, but the Bills are starving for production right now and look nothign like they did at the beginning half of the season.  Davis may be that spark the Bills need, and if so, he can be very productive in 12-team leagues or deeper, at least so long as Sanders remains out.

Laquon Treadwell

WR – Jacksonville Jaguars – 2% Owned

Listen, I’m not big on any of the Jaguars players not named James Robinson, but Laquon Treadwell has now had 19 targets total in his previous 3 games and had caught 6 of a whopping 9 targets for 57 yards in Week 15.  His targets are trending up and opportunity is half of what you need to be successful in fantasy football, so feel free to stash him 14-team leagues or deeper, particular with the abysmal Jets on tap for Week 16.
