Waiver Favors™: 2021 Week 13 Fantasy Football Pickups

As I do every year over the last 9 years, I’m here to help with waiver wire adds via my weekly Waiver Favors™ article!  And I’m assuming if you’re reader right now, you won your fantasy football playoffs last year, so congratulations!

I’ll make a couple suggestions for after Week 13 of the 2021 fantasy football season that hopefully will keep your team running.  You’re welcome.  Again.

As usual, all pickups are available in at least 50% of Yahoo standard fantasy football leagues (with some minor exceptions) as of Sunday evening.

Players I’ve suggested before that deserve a look again this week include:

And here are some new players I’m recommending this week:

Taysom Hill

QB – New Orleans Saints – 34% Owned

Taking over as the primary signal caller for the Saints, Taysom Hill completed 19 of 41 passes for 264 yards with 2 TDs and 4 INTs, adding 101 rush yards on 11 carries, this week against Dallas.  Clearly, he’s not going to light the world on fire passing the ball, but the rushing yards provide a solid floor week to week, and the TD upside will be there with the Saints likely to be in negative game scripts.  Hill did pick up a mallet finger injury, but it’s not as severe as what Russell Wilson had and he’s already said that he can play through it.  He’s worth a speculative pickup in 12 team leagues or deeper assuming you need QB help.

Tevin Coleman

RB – New York Jets – 41% Owned

The Jets are a bit of a mess, but with Michael Carter out with an ankle injury, Tevin Coleman had 11 rushes for 58 yards in Week 13, adding three receptions for 19 yards.  The Jets only had 13 total carries, so Coleman appears to be the primary back for now and can be useful in 14-team leagues or deeper.

Matt Breida

RB – Buffalo Bills – 41% Owned

Zach Moss was a helathy scratch in Week 12 while Matt Breida rushed 9 times for 26 yards, adding 2 receptions for 29 yards and a TD.  He’s now supplanted Moss but was still slightly out carried by Singletary 15-9.  That being said, he seems to be the best RB option the Bills have and has potential for take over the lion’s share of the Bills’ backfield touches, so he’s worth a speculative grab in all 14-team leagues or deeper.

DeVante Parker

WR – Miami Dolphins – 52% Owned

DeVante Parker is finally back from injury after missing 4 weeks, went right to work catching all 5 targets for 62 yards against the Giants.  He was solid before the injury and could work his way back up the targets ladder, so make sure he’s picked up in your league if he was previously dropped.

DeVante Parker Receiving Stats
Game Rece Rece Rece Rece Rece
Year G Tgt Rec Yds TD Ctch%
2015 14 50 26 494 3 52.0%
2016 15 87 56 744 4 64.4%
2017 13 96 57 670 1 59.4%
2018 11 47 24 309 1 51.1%
2019 16 128 72 1202 9 56.3%
2020 14 103 63 793 4 61.2%
2021 5 43 25 327 1 58.1%
Care 88 554 323 4539 23 58.3%

Jakeem Grant

WR – Chicago Bears – 0% Owned

With Allen Robinson (hamstring) and Marquise Goodwin (foot) out with injuries, Jakeem Grant was the next man up and caught 5 passes for 62 yards and a TD in Week 13.  This is back-to-back weeks in which Grants target share increased, so if Robinson and Goodwin remain out, he’s probably an interesting stash in 16-team leagues or deeper.

UPDATE for Monday Night Football

Rhamondre Stevenson – RB – New England Patriots

  • I already recommended picking him up, but with a huge 24 carry night and Damien Harris leaving the game with a hamstring injury, there’s serious potential for future big games.  So if he’s still out there, go get him.
