Waiver Favors™: 2021 Week 7 Fantasy Football Pickups

As I do every year over the last 9 years, I’m here to help with waiver wire adds via my weekly Waiver Favors™ article!  And I’m assuming if you’re reader right now, you won your fantasy football playoffs last year, so congratulations!

I’ll make a couple suggestions for after Week 7 of the 2021 fantasy football season that hopefully will keep your team running.  You’re welcome.  Again.

As usual, all pickups are available in at least 50% of Yahoo standard fantasy football leagues (with some minor exceptions) as of Sunday evening.

Players I’ve suggested before that deserve a look again this week include:

And here are some new players I’m recommending this week:

Brandon Bolden

RB – New England Patriots – 6% Owned

I never like banking on Patriots RBs for fantasy, and we know that Damien Harris is the the most likely early down RB, but it’s hard to ignore the fact that, with James White is out for the season, Brandon Bolden is the primary pass catching RB.  In Week 7, Bolden caught 6 of 7 targets for 79 yards and a TD, adding 2 carries for no yards.  It won’t be consistent, but you could do worst as a bye week fill-in for 14-team PPR leagues or deeper.

Kalif Raymond

WR – Detroit Lions – 3% Owned

I just can’t figure out which Lions WR I’d want to play from week to week, but in Week 7, it was Kalif Raymond. Raymond caught 6 of 8 targets for 115 yards in Week 7 and looks to be the WR1 in Detroit for the foreseeable future, particularly with Quintez Cephus and Tyrell Williams out due to injury.  Feel free to grab him in all 14-team leagues or deeper.

Darius Slayton

WR – New York Giants – 15% Owned

Someone has to catch the ball for the Giants, and with Kadarius Toney, Sterling Shepard and Kenny Golladay out, and that someone was Darius Slayton in Week 7, who lead the team by grabbing 5 of a whopping 9 targets for 63 yards.  Remember that Slayton was trending towards stardom in NY prior to the arrival of Toney and Golladay, totaling over 1400 receiving yards and 11 total TDs over the last two years.  Perhaps his utility will depend on the health of Toney, Shepard and Golladay, but so long as at least two of the three are out, Slayton looks to be playable in most 12-team PPR leagues and 14-team standard leagues or deeper.

Darius Slayton Receiving Stats
Game Rece Rece Rece Rece Rece
Year Tm G Tgt Rec Yds TD Ctch%
2019 NYG 14 84 48 740 8 57.1%
2020 NYG 16 96 50 751 3 52.1%
2021 NYG 3 14 7 127 1 50.0%
Care 33 194 105 1618 12 54.1%

C.J. Uzomah

TE – Cincinnati Bengals – 18% Owned

C.J. Uzomah isn’t getting a ton of targets, but he’s certainly making the most of them.  He grabbed all 3 targets in Week 7 for 91 yards and 2 TDs, bringing his TD total to 5 over the last 4 weeks.  He comes with a low floor, but he certainly has multi-TD upside.  If you’re hurtin’ for a TE, feel free to speculate in 14-team leagues or deeper.
