As I do every week over the last 6 years, I’m back to help with some waiver wire adds via my weekly Waiver Favors article!

Here are a couple suggestions after Week 10 of the 2018 fantasy football season.  You’re welcome.

As usual, all pickups are available in at least 50% of Yahoo standard fantasy football leagues (with some minor exceptions) as of Sunday evening.

Marcus Mariota

Marcus Mariota

QB – Tennessee Titans – 30% Owned

In the preseason, Marcus Mariota was pegged as a top 12 option by many fantasy football pundits.  But then came the poor performances and injuries, and most everyone lost faith.  I’m not saying he’s back to that guy we expected him to be in the preseason, but he’s now had three solid performances in a row.  This week he filled up the box score completing 16 of 24 passes for 228 yards and 2 TDs while rushing twice for 21 yards and even adding a 21-yard reception in a surprising win over the Patriots.  Bye weeks are mostly behind us, but Mariota can be an excellent bye week fill in in any league, and is well worth your consideration in all 2 QB leagues.

Dak Prescott

Dak Prescott

QB – Dallas Cowboys – 36% Owned

Sure, Prescott under-impressed the first 5 weeks of the season with a receiving core missing Dez Bryant and Jason Witten, but he’s really found his grove now that the Cowboys spent to upgrade his options with Amari Cooper.  In Week 10, Prescott continued his string of impressive performances completing 26 of 36 passes for 270 yards and a TD, along with 9 rush yards and rush TD.  The important note is that over a quarter of his targets went to Cooper, further demonstrating their connection.  His rushing output gives him a nice floor and his passing output is definitely trending up.  He looks like the guy we thought he might be after his rookie season, and he gets the swiss cheese Falcons secondary next, so feel free to pick him up in 12-team leagues or deeper as a bye week fill in or in all 2 QB leagues.

Rashaad Penny

Rashaad Penny

RB – Seattle Seahawks – 14% Owned

Another preseason darling, everyone was on Rashaad Penny after the Seahawks traded up in the first round to draft him.  Then Chris Carsons took over in the backfield, and when he wasn’t available, it was Mike Davis.  But Penny finally broke out as we all thought he might complementing Davis with Carson out to the tune of 12 carries, 108 yards and a TD.  Assuming Carson remains out, Penny is worth your RB4/5 or Flex consideration in 14-team leagues or deeper, and I wouldn’t mind stashing him in shallower leagues if you have space.

Maurice Harris

Maurice Harris

WR – Washington Redskins – 37% Owned

With Jamison Crowder missing games, Maurice Harris has managed to make a name for himself.  In Week 10, he had the benefit of Chris Thompson and Paul Richardson also being out.  Harris caught 10 of 12 targets for 124 yards in Week 9, and although didn’t perform as well, still had a solid Week 10 catching all 5 targets for 52 yards.  As long as Crowder remains out, Harris is a nice WR4/Flex in 12-team PPR leagues or deeper.

Anthony Miller

Anthony Miller

WR – Chicago Bears – 13% Owned

Anthony Miller was coming on at the beginning of the season with the draft hype at his back, but then missed a few games due to injury.  Taylor Gabriel grabbed the spot light, but Miller looks to now be back in full.  Miller snagged 5 of 6 targets for 122 yards and a TD in Week 10, posting his first 100-yard receiving day in the NFL.  He’s a nice speculative pickup in 14-team leagues or deeper.

John Ross

John Ross

WR – Cincinnati Bengals – 17% Owned

No AJ Green in Week 10 gave John Ross an opportunity play in 2 WR sets.  He ended up with only 2 catches on 6 targets for 39 yards, but did manage to catch a TD.  The important thing to note is the playing time and opportunity while Green is out, which looks to be well into December.  You could do worse for WR needy teams in 14-team leagues or deeper.

Zay Jones

Zay Jones

WR – Buffalo Bills – 1% Owned

We were all excited about Zay Jones last year, but he never really found a role, not to mention he lacked any talent behind center.  In steps Matt Barkley and suddenly Jones catches 8 of 11 targets for 93 yards and a TD, clearly his best performance this season.  Let’s not go crazy on a single performance, but assuming Barkley remains behind center, which is very uncertain, Jones may be worth a stash in 16-team leagues or deeper.

Chris Herndon

Chris Herndon

TE – New York Jets – 13% Owned

Over the last 5 games, rookie Chris Herndon has 3 total TDs and averaged 42 yards on almost 3 receptions per game, including a “team-high” 34 yards in Week 10.  The Jets offense is horrid, particularly with Josh McCown under center, but the opportunity is there, so Herndon is worth your consideration if you’re in need of a TE in 14-team leagues or deeper.

UPDATE – 11/12

  • If Josh Adams (13% Owned) does get more carries going forward, then he’s a worthy speculative pickup in 14-team leagues or deeper, but not PPR leagues as he doesn’t appear to be involved in the pass game.

No UPDATEs from Monday Night Football, but if you’re really desperate at QB in 2 QB leagues or 16-team leagues over a bye, Eli Manning (17% Owned) seems to have something going and is worth your consideration based on recent output and new found connection with OBJ.

And here’s who I’ve recommended in previous weeks that I still think deserve a look:

10-Team Leagues

WRs – Tyler Boyd, Calvin Ridley

12-Team Leagues

QBs – Baker Mayfield, Mitchell Trubisky

WRs – Kenny Golladay, Willine Snead IV (PPR), Courtland Sutton, Marquez Valdes-Scantling

14-Team Leagues

QB – Josh Allen, Ryan Fitzpatrick

RBs – Mike Davis, Austin Ekeler, Elijah McGuire (PPR), Alfred Morris, Wendell Smallwood

WRs – Antonio Callaway, Keke Coutee, Taylor Gabriel, Christian Kirk, Mohamed Sanu

16-Team Leagues

QB – Nick Mullens

RB – Corey Clement

WRs – Cole Beasley, Chris Godwin, Adam Humphries

TEs – Dallas Goedert, Jeff Heuerman
