2018 Week 10 NFL Picks

By the Football Garbage Time Staff

If you followed last year, you won over 60% of your picks, and we aim to do even better this year.

And if you’ve been following us, you know that we here at Football Garbage Time have gone head to head against Wally, Will and Ray at Urban Sports Scene on our NFL Picks for the last 3 seasons.  Why?  Because they’re awesome competitors, they KNOW their sports, and, heck, they’re just good guys!  But this year we’ll have their picks up right HERE each and every week, so keep it tuned in, to both us and them, because we’ll be picking all season all long.

Without further to do, here we go:

Week 10 Games

Ha Kung Wong’s Picks

Ha Kung’s Thoughts:

Last year I ended up with a 62% record for the season, so that’s three years in a row with over a 60% pick rate.  I had a near perfect Week 8, only missing 1 pick, getting me to a gaudy 81-38 (68.1%).  And I intend to keep you at 62%+, as well as keep you ahead of Ryan.

So far this season I’m 8 for 9 on Locks of the Week and 5 for 9 for Upsets of the Week.  Let’s see what I can do for you for Week 10…

Lock of the Week => Kansas City Chiefs (-17) over Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals defense is surprisingly solid, ranked 8th in the NFL.  But come on, everyone, this is the Chiefs we’re talking about.  The Chiefs have the most points per game (36.3)and the 3rd most yards per game (433.4) of any offense in the NFL, and Patrick Mahomes and friends are not going to be slowed down this week.

Upset of the Week => Jacksonville Jaguars (+2.5) over Indianapolis Colts

The Jaguars aren’t the defense they used to be, but they’re still ranked 6th in the NFL, and guess who’s back?  That’s right, Leonard Fournette!  Who knows if this turns the team around from a disappointing season, but we all know that the Jaguars are much improved with him on the field.  And we know that Blake Bortles isn’t any good, but he’ll be facing the Colts’ 24th ranked pass defense that also allows the 10th most passing yards per game (262) in the NFL.  I see the Jaguars getting the upset.

Joanne Kong’s Picks

Joanne’s Thoughts:

Carolina Panthers (6-2) @ Pittsburg Steelers (5-2)

Le’Veon Bell who? Yeah, I said it.

It’s the guy who tweeted this…

and this…

and who’s given up…$8.5M to prove a point.

James Conner has stepped into Bell’s shoes and made a semi-seamless transition, scoring 7 touchdowns in their last four game win streak.

The Carolina Panthers are only 1-2 away.  Both teams are among the top in defending against the run game this season, allowing less than 100 yards per game.   Both teams are running hot.  With a 4-point spread, favoring the Pittsburg Steelers, it a coin flip of a game.

Ryan Whitfield’s Picks

Ryan’s Thoughts:

The comeback has begun! Another solid week for me last week going and grabbing a 10-spot for the second straight week and the fourth time this season. HaKung, consider yourself on notice! Now without further ado, let’s dive into the numbers.

Week 10 Locks:

Atlanta has scored touchdowns in 17 of their last 21 red zone trips. Suffice it to say, they have figured out their Red Zone issues, and they roll on the road in Cleveland.

Kansas City continues there winning ways against the lowly Cardinals in Arrowhead. The Los Angeles Chargers have won five straight and are 6-2 only losing to the Chiefs and Rams thus far. They win this weekend on the road in Oakland. Green Bay is creeping up on desperation time, and they need a win this weekend. They take care of the Dolphins in Lambeau.

Now to the rest:

I like Philadelphia at home against Dallas with new addition Golden Tate. New England continues to roll with a win down in Nashville. New Orleans has to leave the dome, but they take the win against the fledgling Bengals. The Rams put last week behind them and take care of divisional foe Seattle in LA. And lastly, the 49ers get win number three at home against the Giants, because they stink and I hate teams going coast-to-coast in the NFL.

George’s Picks

George’s Thoughts:

Ok here is where I am going on the key games.

Carolina at Pittsburgh: Both teams are starting to roll especially on offense. Pittsburgh’s defense has quietly improved the last several weeks so I am taking the Steelers

New Orleans at Cincinnati: I was so tempted to take the Bengals, coming off a bye while the Saints are coming off a huge emotional win and could have a letdown. And yet I am going with the Saints because Dez Bryant’s signing will give them some much needed juice this week.

Washington at Tampa Bay: The Redskins offensive line is decimated by injuries and there defense is licking their wounds after getting handled by Atlanta. Not exactly the best time to face the Buccaneers passing attack that is potent with Ryan Fitzpatrick. And that’s why I am taking Tampa, if this is a shootout the Redskins haven’t proved they can win one of those
