2017 Week 2 NFL Picks

By the Football Garbage Time Staff

If you followed last year, you won over 60% of your picks, and we aim to do even better this year.

Before we get started this week, we ran some polls regarding which teams were most likely to start 0-2 and 0-3 this season, and this is what ended up with:

As you can see, the Washington Redskins were picked as the most likely team of the four choices to start the seasons 0-2, and the the Cincinnati Bengals were picked as most likely to start 0-3.  So, keep these in mind as you make your picks if you have any toss ups.

And without further to do, here are our picks:

Week 2 Games

Ha Kung Wong’s Picks

Ha Kung’s Thoughts:

Last year I ended up with a 62% record for the season, so that’s two years in a row with over a 60% pick rate.  The first week of the season is always tough because we have so little information on the teams in their current composition, but I have confidence I’ll get you all started on the right foot.  And so far it’s pretty decent going 8-7.  I have faith it’s only getting better from here.

Also, just because we love competition here at Football Garbage Time, we’re once again going heads up against Wally, Will and Ray at Urban Sports Scene on our NFL Picks.

They’re awesome competitors, and they KNOW their sports, so keep it tuned in, to both us and them, because we’ll be picking all season all long.

Joanne Kong’s Picks

Ryan Whitfield’s Picks

Ryan Whitfield’s Thoughts:

I’m off to another roaring start with ten wins last week and one this week already. Listen up, take notes, and send your thanks @RyanWhitfieldNE.

Last night was a lock. How is Marvin Lewis still employed?

The Packers looked good last week and they go 2-0 winning in Atlanta.

Dallas runs the ball and plays good defense and Prescott makes the plays he needs to. Denver loses in Mile High.

I have the Lions as a sleeper contender this year, the Giants are a mess offensively. A bad loss Monday night at home and the NY Post makes some clever “put a fork in them” pun headline Tuesday am.

Scott King’s Picks

Scott King’s Thoughts:

After going 11-5 week 1 i am cautiously optimistic about week 2.  It’s still too early to know what’s going to happen, but we learned a few things week 1.  First – The Texans have a huge issue at QB and could free fall to the point of O’Brien losing his job.  Second – The Patriots have some flaws, but I’m not worried.  Finally – Half of what we think we know going in to week 2, will be wrong.

Nothing too crazy with this weeks picks, but I do like the Lions on the road in New York.
