2016 Week 1 NFL Picks

And we’re back!  If you followed last year, you won over 60% of your picks, and we aim to do even better this year.  So without further to do, here we go:

HKW Picks Week 1 2016

Ha Kung’s Thoughts:

As I mention every week, copy my picks and you can thank me later.  If you like winning, I think I can help.

Also, just because we love competition here at Football Garbage Time, we’re once again going heads up against Wally, Will and Ray at Urban Sports Scene on our NFL Picks.  Keep it tuned in, to both us and them, because we’ll be picking all season all long!

With fresh new season ahead of us, all the games seem interesting.  I’m most interested in what the Philadelphia Eagles and Cleveland Browns will look like, as both teams have now undergone some significant transformation.

Both have new QBs and Cleveland has almost completely revamped its receiving core.  The major difference is that Carson Wentz wasn’t supposed to start this year.  He was supposed to sit behind Sam Bradford, presumably for a full year, or at least until he completely face plants.  And he’s coming off a rib injury which limited his on field reps to a single preseason game.  RGIII, on the other hand, has been completely resurgent in Cleveland.  And he’s shown great chemistry with Terrelle Pryor and Gary Barnidge, and has first round draft pick Corey Coleman joining in the fun.  I wouldn’t be surprised if this is one of the worst games of the year, but at the end, I think the Browns will prevail.

Jason Johnson’s Picks

Carolina Panthers over Denver Broncos

Jason’s Thoughts:

Although they didn’t look the sharpest in the preseason Carolina is definitely on a mission to prove the Super Bowl was not how they should be remembered.  With Benjamin back at WR, I don’t think Denver’s defense holds up Carolina like they did in the Super Bowl.  Denver’s QB is likely to get eaten up and put them in a hole early.  Carolina should come out on top.  24-10 Carolina.
